An avid exploration of the craft has pulled my ceramic work in both functional and sculptural directions. I find inspiration in my frequent travels, love of art history, and an appreciation for nature. My work seeks to embody the spirit of the places I have visited, pay homage to the art of the past, and capture the beauty and elegance of nature.
Making, for me, has always been tied to learning. Whether taking a workshop or teaching a class my creative process feeds on community, the sharing of a passion, the exchange of ideas. These things keep me going. These things keep me making.
I currently works as an Adjunct Instructor of Ceramics at Hood College in Frederick, MD, where I received my MFA in Ceramic Arts in the Spring of 2018. In addition to my work at Hood, I teach ceramics classes and work as the Studio Manager at Washington Street Studios in Harpers Ferry, WV.
